Zadar, Croatia
St Anastasia’s Cathedral is Zadar’s largest church and one of the city’s most important historic landmarks. Built mainly in the 12th and 13th centuries on the site of an earlier basilica, it is noted for its Romanesque façade, richly carved portal, and calm, spacious interior. Dedicated to the city’s patron saint, it offers insight into Zadar’s religious and architectural heritage. Visitors interested in medieval art, history, or city views may find the climb up the bell tower especially worthwhile.
