Zadar, Croatia
Zadar’s Roman Forum is the city’s most important ancient site, built between the 1st century BC and 3rd century AD. Located beside St. Donatus Church and the waterfront, it preserves columns, paving stones, and foundations from the Roman era. While only partial remains survive, the setting makes it easy to imagine the former civic center of Roman Zadar. It is best suited to visitors interested in history, archaeology, or architecture, and it pairs naturally with nearby landmarks in the old town.
