Water Gate

Wismar’s Water Gate (Wassertor) is the city’s last surviving medieval harbor gate, built around 1450 as part of its brick Gothic defenses. Facing the old port, it offers a clear sense of Wismar’s Hanseatic past and makes an easy stop while exploring the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
