Wismar, Germany
Wismar, Germany
Wassertor is Wismar’s last surviving medieval city gate, a compact but striking reminder of the town’s Hanseatic past. Built in the 15th century near the old harbor, its red-brick Gothic design reflects the architecture that defines much of the historic center. While it is not a large attraction, it is worth a short stop for anyone interested in local history, medieval fortifications, or Wismar’s UNESCO-listed character. Its location also makes it easy to combine with a walk through the old town and waterfront.
