Alter Schwede

Alter Schwede is one of Wismar’s most recognizable historic buildings, standing on the Market Square since 1380. This well-preserved brick Gothic merchant’s house offers a clear glimpse of the city’s Hanseatic past and is among the oldest town houses of its kind in northern Germany.
