Valletta, Malta
Upper Barrakka Gardens is one of Valletta’s most rewarding viewpoints, offering wide panoramas over the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities. Created in the 17th century as a private garden for the Knights of St John, it is now a peaceful public space with arcades, statues, and shaded benches. Many visitors come for the Saluting Battery below, where ceremonial cannon firings take place daily. If you want a short, scenic stop that combines history, harbour views, and an easy break from Valletta’s streets, it is well worth adding to your walk.
