About Ubud Palace

Ubud Palace (Puri Saren Agung) is the historic royal residence at the heart of Ubud, opposite the central market. Built in the early 19th century, it showcases well-preserved Balinese architecture, ornate stonework, and tranquil courtyards. Visitors can wander select areas by day to see pavilions and traditional gardens, and return at night for classical dance performances. Its central location makes it easy to pair with nearby temples, galleries, and cafes. While not large, the palace offers a clear window into Ubud’s cultural heritage and is a worthwhile stop for architecture, history, and performing arts enthusiasts.
