Tyholttårnet is one of Trondheim’s most recognizable landmarks, rising 124 metres above the city on the Tyholt hill. Built in 1985 as a telecommunications tower, it is best known to visitors for its observation level and revolving restaurant, Egon Tårnet, which offer wide views over Trondheim, the fjord, and surrounding hills. While the tower itself is not a historic monument, it is a worthwhile stop if you want an easy panoramic overview of the city, especially on a clear day.
