Trondheim, Norway
Nidaros Cathedral is Trondheim’s most important historic landmark and one of Scandinavia’s finest Gothic churches. Built over the burial site of St. Olav, Norway’s patron saint, it has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries. Visitors come for its richly carved west front, atmospheric interior, and role in Norway’s royal coronation history. If you’re interested in medieval architecture, national history, or significant religious sites, it is one of the city’s most worthwhile stops.
