Tirana, Albania
Bunk’Art 2 is a Cold War–era nuclear bunker beneath central Tirana, converted into a museum about Albania’s communist security apparatus. Its concrete corridors, preserved blast doors, and multimedia exhibits trace the roles of the Ministry of Interior, the secret police (Sigurimi), and everyday surveillance. Visitors gain context on Enver Hoxha’s isolationist regime and the country’s dense bunker network. Centrally located near Skanderbeg Square, it’s a compact, evocative visit—most impactful for those interested in recent history, authoritarian politics, or unusual underground architecture. Audio guides and bilingual displays make the experience accessible in about 60–90 minutes.
