Imamzadeh Saleh Shrine, in Tajrish Square at the foot of the Alborz Mountains, is one of Tehran’s most visited religious sites. The Qajar-era complex features a turquoise-tiled dome, mirror-work interiors, and a calm courtyard that contrasts with the nearby bazaar’s bustle. It’s a good stop to observe local devotion, architecture, and daily life in north Tehran. Modest dress is required; photography may be restricted inside. Combine a visit with the Tajrish Bazaar and Darband trail for a half-day itinerary. Best visited on weekdays for thinner crowds, especially around late afternoon when light flatters the tiles.
