Narikala Fortress is one of Tbilisi’s oldest landmarks, overlooking the Old Town and the Mtkvari River from a steep hill above the city. Parts of the fortress date back to the 4th century, and its walls reflect Tbilisi’s long, strategic history. Most visitors come for the wide panoramic views, especially at sunset, as well as the short walk to nearby sights such as the Mother of Georgia statue and the sulfur baths district. If you want a quick, scenic introduction to Tbilisi’s landscape and past, Narikala is well worth a stop.
