Stuttgart, Germany
The Fernsehturm Stuttgart, opened in 1956, is the world’s first reinforced concrete TV tower and a pioneer of modern tower design. Rising 216 meters from a wooded hill in Degerloch, it offers panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, vineyards, and the Swabian Jura. An elevator takes visitors to an observation deck and café. Easily reached by public transport (U7/U8 to Ruhbank), it’s a good choice for clear days and architecture enthusiasts. Expect admission fees and occasional queues; evening visits offer city lights. Closed during high winds. A landmark that combines engineering history with sweeping regional scenery.
