Kammerzell House is one of Strasbourg’s best-preserved Renaissance buildings, facing the cathedral on Place de la Cathédrale. Its richly carved timber facade (16th century) features mythological and biblical scenes, while earlier stone levels date to the 15th century. Inside, painted ceilings and wood-panelled rooms reflect centuries of merchant wealth and Alsatian craftsmanship. Today it houses a restaurant, so you can combine a visit with a meal or simply admire the exterior between cathedral and old town explorations. Go if you enjoy architectural detail, urban history, and atmospheric photo stops in the heart of the Grande Île.
