Stellenbosch, South Africa
Set on the slopes of the Stellenbosch mountains, the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden blends dramatic fynbos landscapes with more than 60 bronze sculptures by South African artist Dylan Lewis. Paths weave through indigenous plantings, water features, and themed “rooms” exploring wilderness and transformation. Visits are by appointment, keeping numbers low and the experience contemplative. It’s ideal for travelers interested in art in nature, thoughtful landscape design, and Cape flora. Combine with nearby wine estates for a half-day outing; allow 1–2 hours to wander. Wear comfortable shoes; limited shade and uneven paths make mornings or late afternoons preferable.
