About Hexenturm Stadthagen

Hexenturm (Witch Tower) is Stadthagen’s best‑preserved remnant of its medieval fortifications. Built in the 13th–14th century, the stout round tower later served as a prison and is linked to the town’s early modern witch trials, giving it a somber historical resonance. Visitors can view the exterior along the old city wall and explore nearby lanes of the compact historic center. While interior access is limited and exhibits are minimal, the tower’s masonry, context within Stadthagen’s defenses, and evocative past make it a worthwhile stop for history enthusiasts or a short detour on a Schaumburg heritage walk.
