Old Town Square (Stari trg) anchors Slovenska Bistrica’s historic core, framed by pastel façades, arcaded houses, and the Baroque Parish Church of St. Bartholomew. A small but atmospheric space, it reflects the town’s medieval layout and later Styrian influences. Cafés and local shops make it an easy pause between visits to nearby Bistrica Castle and the Pohorje foothills. Occasional markets and cultural events add low-key vibrancy. Visit if you appreciate compact, authentic townscapes, modest architecture, and a relaxed pace rather than major landmarks. It’s best combined with a half-day stroll through the old streets and surrounding parks.
