Side, Turkey
Side, Turkey
Seleucia (Lyrbe) lies in the pine-covered hills above Side, offering a quiet alternative to the coast’s busier ruins. This Hellenistic-Roman site features a remarkably well-preserved agora with colonnades, fragments of temples, baths, and a Byzantine church. Low visitor numbers and shaded forest paths make it ideal for unhurried exploration and photography. Access is via a short drive and walk on uneven ground, so sturdy shoes are recommended. Visit if you value atmospheric ruins, bird song, and sweeping views over the Manavgat valley rather than extensive on-site interpretation or facilities.
