Side, Turkey
The Nymphaeum of Side is a grand, 2nd-century Roman fountain marking the city’s entrance. Its three-tiered façade once channeled water from the Manavgat aqueduct into ornate basins, framed by columns and niches for statues. Though partially ruined, it remains one of Side’s most impressive monuments, illustrating Roman urban engineering and the city’s prosperity. Located near the main archaeological area and theater, it’s easy to include on a short walk. Visit for evocative stonework, clear signage, and context within Side’s broader ruins—best in early morning or late afternoon for cooler temperatures and softer light.
