Molo Longo

Molo Longo is Rijeka’s signature pier and breakwater, stretching about 1.7 km into the harbor with an easy, flat promenade. Built in the 19th century and extended in the 20th, it offers close-up views of port activity, the city skyline, and Kvarner Bay. Locals jog, fish, and stroll here, and a small lighthouse marks the end. There’s minimal shade and few services, so bring water and sun protection. Visit for a relaxed walk, sea air, and panoramic photography—especially at sunset. If you prefer beaches or historical interiors, pair this with nearby city sights rather than making it your only stop.
