Riga Castle

Riga Castle, on the banks of the Daugava River, is one of Latvia’s most important historic landmarks. Originally built in the 14th century, it has served as a fortress, residence, and today the official residence of the President of Latvia. Its long history reflects the city’s changing rulers and political life.
