Riga, Latvia
The House of the Black Heads is one of Riga’s most striking landmarks, standing prominently in Town Hall Square. Originally built in the 14th century for a guild of unmarried merchants, it is known for its richly decorated façade and links to the city’s trading past. Although destroyed during World War II, it was carefully reconstructed and now houses grand ceremonial rooms and historical displays. It is a worthwhile stop for visitors interested in Riga’s medieval heritage, architecture, and the history of the old city.
