Wallenstein Garden (Valdštejnská zahrada) is a serene Baroque garden behind the Czech Senate in Prague’s Lesser Town. Created in the 1620s for General Albrecht von Wallenstein, it blends formal hedges, a grotto-like wall, ornamental ponds, and statues inspired by antiquity. Peacocks roam the lawns, and seasonal concerts sometimes animate the terrace. Its appeal lies in offering a calm, elegant retreat steps from busy Malá Strana and the Charles Bridge. Free entry (when the Senate isn’t in session) makes it an easy add to a Prague itinerary, especially for lovers of garden design, sculpture, and quiet urban escapes.
