The Powder Tower (Prašná brána) is a striking late-Gothic gate marking the start of Prague’s Royal Route to Prague Castle. Built in the 15th century and once used to store gunpowder, it’s one of the few surviving medieval city gates. Visitors can climb its narrow staircase for panoramic views of the Old Town and see exhibits on the city’s fortifications. Located beside the Art Nouveau Municipal House, it’s easy to include on a central walking itinerary. Best for travelers interested in Prague’s medieval past, architecture, and accessible viewpoints.
