About Loreta

Loreta is a Baroque pilgrimage complex in Prague’s Hradčany district, best known for its replica Santa Casa (Holy House) and the ornate Church of the Nativity. Its 27-bell carillon, installed in the 1690s, chimes hourly, adding to the site’s atmosphere. Visitors can explore richly decorated chapels, cloisters, and a small treasury featuring liturgical art and a famous diamond monstrance. It’s a quieter alternative to nearby Prague Castle, appealing to those interested in Baroque architecture, sacred music, and Catholic heritage. Allow 60–90 minutes; modest entry fee and occasional services may limit access to some areas.
