About Church of Our Lady before Týn

Dominating Prague’s Old Town skyline, the Church of Our Lady before Týn is a Gothic landmark best known for its twin spires and richly layered history. Begun in the 14th century, it reflects Husite, Gothic, and Baroque influences, with a striking façade and a lavish interior housing the tomb of astronomer Tycho Brahe. Visitors come for its atmospheric nave, fine altarpieces, and organ concerts, as well as the dramatic view of its exterior from Old Town Square. It’s most rewarding for lovers of medieval architecture and history; check opening hours, as visiting times can be limited.
