About Orangery Palace

The Orangery Palace (Orangerieschloss) crowns Potsdam’s Sanssouci Park with Italian Renaissance-inspired elegance. Built for King Frederick William IV in the mid-19th century, it features a grand double-wing façade, lavish Raphael Hall with copies of Renaissance masterpieces, and lush plant halls still used for overwintering exotic flora. Visitors can tour state rooms, climb the belvedere for park views, and stroll Terraced Gardens linking to nearby palaces. It’s ideal for travelers interested in Prussian court culture, architecture, and landscaped gardens, and pairs well with a broader Sanssouci itinerary. Note: some interiors are accessible only on guided tours.
