About Randyland

Randyland is a free, outdoor art installation on Pittsburgh’s North Side, created by artist Randy Gilson. Brightly painted façades, found-object sculptures, and whimsical murals transform a row of buildings into a joyful, photo-friendly courtyard. Visitors come for its playful color, community spirit, and spontaneous conversations with the artist or volunteers. It’s a quick, uplifting stop near the Mattress Factory and Mexican War Streets, best in daylight and good weather. Expect informal hours, occasional events, and a donation-based model. Ideal for travelers who enjoy folk art, street photography, and grassroots creativity rather than traditional museum experiences.
