Ho Quoc Pagoda (Trúc Lâm Hộ Quốc) is Phú Quốc’s largest Buddhist temple, set on a hillside overlooking Bai Dam beach and the Gulf of Thailand. Opened in 2012, it blends traditional Vietnamese architecture—carved stone dragons, red-tile roofs—with a serene coastal setting. Visitors come for sunrise views, the giant Buddha statues, and a peaceful atmosphere away from the island’s resorts. It’s an easy stop on a south-island tour, with free entry and modest dress expected. Best for travelers interested in culture, calm scenery, and photography rather than extensive historical depth.
