Palma, Spain
Plaça Major is Palma’s central square, a spacious, arcaded plaza framed by ochre façades and lively cafés. Once the site of the Inquisition headquarters, it’s now a pedestrian hub for markets, street performers, and seasonal events. Come for an easy orientation point, people-watching, and access to nearby sights like La Rambla, Olivar Market, and the Cathedral (a short walk away). It’s best in the morning or late afternoon when shade and cafés make lingering pleasant. Not a must for monuments, but ideal for soaking up local atmosphere and planning your exploration of Palma’s old town.
