About High Line

The High Line is a 1.5-mile elevated park built on a historic freight rail line on Manhattan’s West Side. Stretching from the Meatpacking District to Hudson Yards, it offers landscaped gardens, public art, city and Hudson River views, and varied seating areas. Highlights include Chelsea’s galleries, seasonal plantings inspired by wild rail-side growth, and access to eateries and markets nearby. It can be busy, but timed entry is no longer required. Ideal for a scenic urban stroll, architecture spotting, and connecting to attractions like the Whitney Museum and Little Island. Free to visit; open daily with seasonal hours.
