Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand
Wat Ban Rai, in Dan Khun Thot district of Nakhon Ratchasima, is one of Thailand’s most distinctive modern temples. Best known for its large elephant-shaped ceramic chapel, it combines Buddhist symbolism with imaginative architecture and colorful mosaic details. The temple was developed under the guidance of the respected monk Luang Pho Koon and draws both pilgrims and curious travelers. Visitors interested in contemporary Thai temple design, religious art, or unusual landmarks will find it a worthwhile stop, especially if exploring the quieter cultural sights of northeastern Thailand.
