Saint Nicholas Cathedral, also known as Monaco Cathedral, is a serene Roman-Byzantine church built in white limestone (1903–1909) on the Rock of Monaco. It houses the tombs of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace, making it a place of quiet reflection and national significance. Inside, note the 16th-century altarpiece by Louis Bréa, elegant arches, and a grand organ. The cathedral is free to enter, near the Prince’s Palace and Oceanographic Museum, and often hosts sacred music. Visit for its calm atmosphere, royal history, and architectural harmony rather than elaborate decoration. Modest dress is recommended.
