San Agustin Church, in Intramuros, is the oldest stone church in the Philippines (completed 1607) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its Baroque interior features a painted trompe l’oeil ceiling, carved choir stalls, and a serene cloister. The adjacent museum displays colonial-era art, liturgical objects, and historical documents. Despite wartime destruction around it, the church largely survived, offering a rare glimpse of Spanish-era Manila. Visit for architecture, history, and a quiet refuge amid the walled city; allow 60–90 minutes, and check for services or weddings that may limit access. Nearby sites and cafés make it easy to combine with an Intramuros stroll.
