The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian shrine relocated to Madrid in the 1960s, a gift from Egypt for Spain’s help saving Nubian monuments. Set in Parque del Oeste near Plaza de España, it offers rare access to 2nd-century BC carvings and a small interpretive exhibit. The temple’s stone silhouette against the sky is especially striking at sunset, with reflective pools and city views. Entry is free, though interior access may be limited by capacity. Visit for a quick, historic stop that pairs well with a stroll through the park and nearby attractions.
