Lüneburg, Germany
St John’s Church (Johanniskirche) is one of Lüneburg’s most important medieval landmarks, known for its striking brick Gothic architecture and tall, slightly leaning tower. Dating largely from the 14th century, it is closely associated with Johann Sebastian Bach, who is believed to have studied here as a young man. Inside, visitors can see historic furnishings and an impressive organ. If you are interested in Hanseatic history, sacred architecture, or Bach connections, it is a rewarding stop in Lüneburg’s old town.
