London, United Kingdom
The Houses of Parliament, or Palace of Westminster, is London’s seat of government and a landmark of Gothic Revival architecture beside the River Thames. Visitors come for its striking façade, iconic Big Ben clock tower, and rich political history. Guided tours (when Parliament is not in session) offer access to the Commons and Lords chambers and insight into British democracy. The surrounding Westminster Bridge, St. James’s Park, and Westminster Abbey make it easy to combine with other sights. Expect security checks, book ahead for tours, and plan for exterior photos if sessions limit interior access.
