Lagos, Portugal
Ponta da Piedade is a striking headland just south of Lagos, known for honey-colored cliffs, sea arches, and narrow grottoes carved by the Atlantic. Visitors come for panoramic cliff-top viewpoints, boat or kayak tours through the rock formations, and clear-water swims nearby. Access involves steps and uneven paths, so it suits those comfortable with light hiking. Sunset is especially scenic, and photography is excellent in most weather. Facilities are limited; plan water and sun protection. If you value dramatic coastal geology and sea-level exploration over sandy beaches, Ponta da Piedade is a rewarding stop.
