Kyŏngju, South Korea
Yangdong Folk Village, near Kyŏngju, is one of South Korea’s best-preserved historic clan villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set among wooded hills, it contains traditional hanok houses, Confucian academies, and centuries-old layouts that still reflect Joseon-era social structure and rural life. It is especially rewarding for visitors interested in architecture, history, and quieter cultural landscapes rather than large tourist attractions.
