Kyŏngju, South Korea
Poseokjeong, in Gyeongju, is the remnant of a 9th-century Silla royal garden, best known for its carved stone water channel. Once used for courtly gatherings where cups floated along the stream, it offers a glimpse of refined aristocratic life in Korea’s ancient capital. Although little of the original pavilion survives, the site’s historical significance and quiet setting make it a worthwhile stop for visitors interested in Silla culture, archaeology, and Gyeongju’s layered past.
