About USS Bibb Wreck

The USS Bibb Wreck lies off Key Largo, a retired Coast Guard cutter intentionally sunk in 1987 to form an artificial reef. Resting around 95–130 feet deep, it suits advanced divers comfortable with currents and overhead environments. The vessel’s intact structure, growth of corals and sponges, and frequent sightings of barracuda, amberjack, and turtles make it a compelling technical and photography site. Penetration is possible with proper training. Visibility is typically good, and local operators run regular trips. Non-divers should note it’s not a snorkeling site due to depth. Ideal for experienced divers seeking a historic, lively wreck.
