Kaohsiung, Taiwan
The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas are one of Kaohsiung’s best-known landmarks, set on the edge of Lotus Pond. Built in 1976, the twin seven-story towers are entered through the dragon’s mouth and exited through the tiger’s, following a traditional symbolic path said to turn bad luck into good. Their bright colors, ornate carvings, and waterside setting make them a memorable stop for photos and a quick introduction to Taiwanese temple architecture and local beliefs. If you enjoy cultural sights with easy access and distinctive design, they are well worth a visit.
