Jaipur, India
Perched on the Aravalli hills, Nahargarh Fort overlooks Jaipur with sweeping views of the Pink City and Jal Mahal. Built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the fort formed a defensive trio with Amer and Jaigarh. Visitors come for sunset panoramas, the step-well–like Baori, and the restored palace rooms of Madhavendra Bhawan, which reveal royal residential life and clever ventilation. A small museum, café, and cycling routes add to a relaxed visit. Go if you value viewpoints, architecture, and quieter alternatives to Amer; skip if you prefer ornate interiors or have limited time.
