Dolmabahçe Palace, set on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, blends Ottoman tradition with European neoclassical, baroque, and rococo styles. Completed in 1856, it became the Ottoman Empire’s administrative center and later hosted the early Turkish Republic; Mustafa Kemal Atatürk spent his final days here. Visitors can tour lavish crystal staircases, grand ceremonial halls, and richly furnished state rooms, plus the harem. The waterfront setting and ornate interiors offer a clear contrast to Topkapı Palace. Expect timed entry, security checks, and no photography in some areas; allow 1.5–2 hours and consider arriving early to avoid queues.
