Gearings Point

Gearings Point is a popular lookout in central Hermanus, best known for its excellent land-based whale watching between June and November. Set along the scenic Cliff Path near the Old Harbour, it offers wide ocean views and a good chance to spot southern right whales close to shore. The site is easy to reach on foot from town, making it a convenient stop for visitors exploring the coastline. Even outside whale season, it is worth visiting for its sea views, rocky shoreline, and relaxed atmosphere.
