Hammamet, Tunisia
Hammamet, Tunisia
Hammamet Medina is a compact, whitewashed old town enclosed by 15th‑century walls beside the sea. Its narrow lanes lead to artisan workshops, small cafés, and a modest but evocative kasbah with ramparts overlooking the bay. Visitors come for atmospheric strolls, traditional ceramics and jasmine products, and sunset views from the fort. It’s less expansive than medinas in Tunis or Sousse, making it easy to explore in a couple of hours. Go if you value coastal scenery, local craft shopping, and a quieter slice of history; skip if you seek major museums or extensive monuments.
