Ohori Park

Ohori Park is Fukuoka’s central green space, built around a broad, tranquil lake once part of Fukuoka Castle’s moat. Visitors can stroll or jog the 2-km waterside path, cross photogenic stone bridges to island pavilions, or rent boats for a quiet paddle. Highlights include the modern Fukuoka Art Museum on the park’s edge, seasonal cherry blossoms and autumn foliage, and easy access to the adjacent Maizuru (castle) ruins. With ample benches, cafés nearby, and convenient subway access (Ōhorikōen Station), it’s an ideal stop for a relaxed break within a city itinerary.
