El Nido, Philippines
El Nido, Philippines
Snake Island, a narrow S-shaped sandbar in El Nido’s Bacuit Bay, links two forested islets and appears at mid to low tide. Visitors come for the easy ridge hike to a viewpoint, shallow turquoise waters ideal for wading, and photogenic curves best seen by drone or from above. Marine life is modest—more seagrass than coral—so it’s better for leisurely walks than snorkeling. Typically included on island-hopping Tour B, it can get busy midday. Go early for calmer conditions, wear reef-safe footwear for shell fragments, and check tides to catch the sandbar fully exposed.
