Denpasar, Indonesia
Jagatnatha Temple is Denpasar’s principal Hindu shrine, dedicated to the supreme deity, Sang Hyang Widi Wasa. Built in the early 20th century, it features a striking padmasana (lotus throne) tower clad in white coral stone and set within a tranquil park. Visitors come for daily offerings, occasional Odalan ceremonies, and a glimpse of living Balinese ritual without the crowds of southern resort temples. It’s centrally located near the Bali Museum, making an easy cultural stop; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected. Best for travelers interested in religion, architecture, and local community life.
