Cartagena, Colombia
Torre del Reloj (Clock Tower) is the iconic gateway to Cartagena’s walled Old City, built in the 17th century and given its neo-Gothic clock in the 1800s. Once the main entrance through the city’s fortifications, it faces Plaza de los Coches, a lively square with colonial façades and street vendors. Visitors come for classic photos beneath the yellow tower, to trace the city’s defensive history, and to start walking tours of nearby plazas, churches, and museums. It’s quick to see, central, and best combined with exploring the historic streets just beyond its arches.
